An Allis-Chalmers D-19 in 1:64

This ERTL D-19 is a small orange Allis-Chalmers tractor model for a compact farm-toy layout. The D-19 name identifies the full-size tractor subject, while item 46706 identifies this particular 1:64 toy. The orange body gives a classic tractor row a different color profile from green Deere models. It is one tractor, with any wagon, implement or farm setting supplied separately.

Choose the correct D-19 toy

Another ERTL D-19 was numbered 16318. The shared tractor name can make two versions easy to confuse. Match the 1:64 scale and the orange D-19 shown here when filling a collection gap; the name alone does not distinguish the two toys. Keep their packages or inventory cards in separate compartments.

Arrange a classic tractor row

Place the D-19 with other 1:64 tractors so its proportions suit neighboring models. Turn the orange hood toward the viewer and leave the grille visible. The full-size D-19 answered demand for larger tractors in the early 1960s and remained in production from 1961 through 1964. A turbocharged diesel version was offered alongside gas and LP versions. This toy is identified only as a D-19, so display it as the tractor family rather than assigning one engine type. The date range helps separate it from later Allis-Chalmers models in a historical lineup. The period SAE design paper places the D-19 in the 70-horsepower class and describes it as a five-plow tractor. It gives the three fuel versions a shared six-cylinder, 262-cubic-inch engine family, with the diesel turbocharged. Those details help distinguish the full-size subject’s design from a toy description; this ERTL model does not specify one engine version. In 1963, Allis-Chalmers introduced the D-21 as its new flagship. That places the D-19 in the brand’s larger-tractor story just before the next flagship entered the line.

A single tractor for play or display

Age grade is three years and up. The D-19 works as a single-piece addition to an Allis-Chalmers collection or as a tractor in a compact tabletop farm scene. A separate storage compartment helps prevent it from being mixed with the other ERTL D-19 version.
