What we keep, and what we don’t.
This website belongs to Baker Feed & Country Store, the feed store at 5791 Hwy 4 in Baker, Florida. Here is what the site collects about you, in plain words, and what we do with it. Updated October 4, 2026.
The short version. We keep what we need to answer you or fill your order, we don’t sell it, we don’t run ads or trackers, and you can ask us what we have about you any time by calling (850) 537-1000 or writing to bakerfeedandcountrystore@yahoo.com.
What this website collects
Browsing the site asks nothing of you. There’s no account to make, no newsletter box and no tracking that follows you to other websites. The site uses no advertising cookies and no analytics service. A few small settings live in your own browser so the site remembers what you chose (whether you closed the chick sign at the top, or paused the motion), and they never leave your device.
Our web host keeps the ordinary server logs every website has: the address your connection came from, the pages requested, and the time. Those logs are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse, and they roll off after a short while.
Our store software counts how many times each product page is opened, as a daily total per product. It counts the visit, not the visitor: nothing about you is stored with it. We use the totals to see which products people look for.
When you contact us
If you call, text or email, we have what you told us: your name, how to reach you and your question. If you use the contact page, the same details come to the store. We use them to answer you, and for nothing else. We keep messages long enough to finish the conversation, and then up to a year in case you come back with a follow-up about the same thing.
When you order
Right now, orders are placed by phone and picked up at the counter or delivered locally, so what we have is what you tell us: your name, your phone number, what you ordered and, for delivery, your address and any directions to the gate.
When online ordering opens on this site, an order will ask for your name, email, phone and, for delivery, your address, along with the items. Card payments will be handled by a payment processor on its own secure pages; your card number goes to them and never touches our site or our store software. We’ll see the last four digits and whether the payment went through, which is what we need to hand you the right bags. Order records are kept as long as the law and our accountant require for business records, which is generally seven years.
Who else sees it
We don’t sell your information or trade it, and we don’t hand it to anyone for advertising. It reaches other companies only when they do a job for us, and only what that job needs:
- Our web host, which runs the site and keeps the server logs.
- Our email provider, which carries messages between you and the store.
- A payment processor, once online ordering opens, which takes your card payment and tells us it cleared.
- The law, if a court or agency requires it of us.
Deliveries are made by our own people in our own truck, so your address stays with us.
Links to other sites
Pages here link out to Google, Facebook, OpenStreetMap and some of the brands we carry, for reviews, directions and product details. Once you follow one of those links you’re on their site, under their rules, and this page no longer applies.
Children
This website is for the grown-ups who buy the feed. We don’t knowingly collect anything from a child under 13, and if a parent tells us we have, we’ll remove it.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection (the padlock in your browser). The store software that holds messages and orders sits behind sign-ins with two-step verification, and only the people who work the counter can see it. No system is perfect, but we treat your information the way we’d want the folks at the next store over to treat ours.
Your choices
Ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: call (850) 537-1000, email bakerfeedandcountrystore@yahoo.com, or tell us at the counter. We’ll do it, unless a law or a business record requirement means we have to keep something for a while longer, and we’ll tell you if that’s the case. We don’t treat anyone differently for asking.
When this page changes
If what the website collects changes, so will this page, and the date at the top with it. Opening online ordering will be one of those times.
