Plan minerals around grazing conditions

Hi-Mag Grazing Mineral fills the supplemental mineral role for beef cattle on pasture or in a feedlot program. Its magnesium emphasis makes it a product to consider when reviewing the mineral plan around lush pasture and seasonal forage changes. It is still part of the whole ration. Hay, grazing conditions and minerals already supplied in other feeds all matter when deciding how the supplement fits.

Check the mineral supply routinely

Use the established feeding method and keep the supply accessible to the cattle it is intended for. Check the feeder during ordinary herd rounds, noticing whether it is empty, contaminated or being used unevenly. Keep fresh drinking water available. Record how quickly mineral is disappearing so changes in consumption are visible. Review overlapping supplements before adding another product; an extra source should be a considered feeding decision rather than a response to an empty container elsewhere in the pasture.

How to feed it

Provide to beef cattle on a free choice basis or mix with feed at the rate of 25-30 lb per ton. Provide plenty of clean fresh water at all times.
