Feeding directions

Mix one tablespoon powder with two tablespoons warm water to make approximately 2 1/3 tablespoons (7 teaspoons/35 mL) of liquid. This amount feeds a 4 oz (115g) kitten for approximately 1 day.

If possible, all kittens should receive colostrum by nursing on their mother for the first several days. Weigh at the beginning and every 3 days to help determine feeding amounts. Bottle-fed kittens should receive 1 teaspoon (5mL) per 4 ounces (115g) body weight every 3–4 hours. Do not feed liquid below room temperature. Amounts and frequency vary with individual needs. Smaller and weaker kittens may need increased feeding frequency.

As kittens become older, feeding frequency may be decreased and the amount per feeding increased. At 4–6 weeks, offer reconstituted PetLac in a shallow bowl. Do not discontinue bottle feeding until they eat well on their own.

Weaned kittens: feed 1 teaspoon (2g) powder per 5 lb (2.2kg) body weight daily, mixed in regular food. Pregnant and lactating females: feed 2 teaspoons (4g) per 5 lb (2.2kg) body weight daily, mixed in regular food. Consult your veterinarian for additional advice.

Follow recommended amounts to avoid digestive upset from overfeeding. Reconstituted liquid must be refrigerated and stored up to 24 hours. Opened powder must be refrigerated up to 3 months or frozen up to 6 months to preserve freshness.

Intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Not for human consumption.
