Tribute Growth Pellet

Growth Pellet is for the youngsters and the mamas. Tribute formulated it for young, growing horses starting at 3 months of age, and for pregnant and lactating mares that need more calories. It's 15% NSC, 8% fat and 18% fiber.

• Low NSC reduces insulin response. Tribute explains that high insulin can interfere with hormones needed for normal bone development, which may contribute to Developmental Orthopedic Disease.
• Because sugar and starch are low, Tribute says it's appropriate for mares with metabolic disorders and for mares with a history of foals with Developmental Orthopedic Disorders. Ask your vet if that sounds like your mare.
• Higher fat and highly digestible fiber support proper cartilage and bone development, along with seaweed-derived calcium, organic trace minerals and healthy fats.
• A balance of essential amino acids supports growth and muscle maintenance.
• Made for horses on hay or pasture that is 50% or less alfalfa (or other legumes). Past that, Tribute points to Alfa Growth.
• Pelleted, 50 lb bag.
• Uptake Technology is Tribute's blend of pre- and probiotics, digestive enzymes and phospholipids. Tribute says it improves nutrient absorption and supports digestive health.
• The calcium in this feed comes from seaweed (Tribute calls it Constant Comfort). Tribute says it promotes a healthy gastric pH to support horses at risk of ulcers and digestive upset.

How to feed it

We recommend 2 or more meals per day. Do not exceed 5 lb per meal (4 lb for ponies, 6 lb for draft horses).

Provide at least 1.5% of your horse’s body weight in quality forage (hay/pasture) daily. (ex. 1,000 lb horse needs 15 lb of forage per day, minimum).

Be sure clean water is available at all times.
