Little boots that keep up. The Canter Junior is a pull-on western boot for kids who would rather run than sit still. Full grain leather covers the upper, a cushioned insert sits underfoot, and a rubber outsole grips gravel, wet grass and barn concrete. The square toe and unit block heel give it the shape of a grown-up cowboy boot.
The Room 2 Grow insole is what makes these boots last longer. The orthotic insert can be removed to add an extra half size, so the pair still has room when the weather turns. The pull-on design means a kid can get them on alone, which saves a parent from kneeling at the back door.
Highlights
- Pull-on design kids can handle on their own
- Full grain leather upper for climbing fences and playing in the yard
- Rubber outsole for gravel, grass and concrete
- Removable Room 2 Grow insole adds an extra half size
- Cushioned insert for long days on their feet
- Square toe and unit block heel for a classic western shape
Why kids' boots should grow with them
Kids outgrow shoes faster than any other cost in the barn. A boot with a removable insole buys a few more months of wear before a trip to the store, and that adds up over a school year and a riding season.
Pull-on boots also suit the child who is learning to dress alone. Without laces to tie, getting ready for the barn or school takes a minute, and the boot stays on through a run across the yard.
Who it suits: the first-time rider, the kid who helps with the chores, and the little cowboy or cowgirl who wants boots that look the part for school, church or the rodeo.

How to use it
Have your child try them on with the socks they will wear, late in the day, and walk around the store. The toes should have a little room at the end and the heel should not slip. Check the fit each season.
When the toes start to crowd, pull out the Room 2 Grow insert for the extra half size before moving up. Let a new pair get a few days of short wear before the first long day in the barn.
Good to know
- Pair them with jeans and a t-shirt for school, the barn or the rodeo, and add a belt for a finished look.
- Wipe mud off with a damp cloth while it is still wet, then let the leather air out away from direct heat and sun.
- A little leather conditioner a few times a season keeps the uppers from drying out and cracking.
- Let wet boots dry at room temperature, never on a heater.
- Leave about a thumb's width of room past the longest toe so a growing foot has space, and check the fit again every few months.
