For boots, saddles and any smooth leather that has dried out, this paste works in to soften and condition. It also puts down a water-resistant layer and helps keep salt stains from setting in during winter road and barn aisle weather.

A little goes into dry, worn spots with a cloth or sponge, then buffs to a natural luster. Use it on vinyl too, and reapply when leather starts feeling stiff again.

Highlights

  • Softens stiff leather so boots and tack break in easier
  • Waterproofs smooth leather and vinyl for wet weather
  • Helps keep salt stains from setting in
  • Works into dry, worn spots with a cloth or sponge
  • Buffs to a natural luster when you want shine

How to use it

Clean the leather first, then work the paste in and let it soak.

  1. Clean the leather thoroughly to remove dirt, dust and previous coatings, then let it dry completely.
  2. Test a small, inconspicuous area first to check how the leather reacts.
  3. Apply a small amount to a clean, soft cloth or sponge and rub it into the leather in circular motions for even coverage.
  4. Pay special attention to areas that are particularly dry or worn.
  5. Let it absorb for a few hours to overnight, depending on temperature and humidity.
  6. Wipe off any excess with a clean, dry cloth so oil does not transfer to clothing or other surfaces.
  7. Buff with a clean, dry cloth for a shinier finish.
  8. Reapply periodically to maintain softness, flexibility and waterproofing.

Good to know

  • Work it into creases and dry spots first, where leather stiffens most.
  • Give it a few hours or overnight to soak in, longer in cold weather.
  • Wipe off the excess so oil does not transfer to jeans or saddle pads.
  • Buff with a dry cloth when you want the leather to shine.
  • It may darken certain leathers, so try it on a hidden spot first.

Have it on hand before salt season and keep your boots and tack supple.
