An automatic waterer keeps your livestock drinking all day without a bucket run to the trough. Hook it to a water line, and the float holds the water level while the animals drink from the bowl. You stop hauling water twice a day, and the animals always have a fresh drink in reach.
This is heavy-duty galvanized steel, built to run on supply pressure between 20 and 50 pounds per square inch. It connects to a 1/2 inch pipe or hose with a left or right connection. It works for horses, cattle, hogs, goats and other outside animals, and it needs no special training to get the animals using it.
Highlights
- Heavy-duty galvanized steel
- Connects to pipe, flex hose or garden hose
- Left or right side water connection
- Mounting plates included
- Built for horses, cattle, hogs and goats
Why an automatic waterer belongs in your pasture set-up
Animals drink more reliably when the water is fresh and always there. A trough that runs low in the heat is a problem for horses, cattle and goats, and a waterer that refills itself takes that chore off your plate. The water level stays steady, so the animals don't stand around waiting on a bucket.
A stock waterer fits a pasture, a corral or a lot where a hose or pipe can reach. It's made for outside use and is not meant for use inside a home. If you run a few head of cattle or a small string of horses, this is a simpler setup than hauling water to the back pasture every morning and every evening.

How to use it
- Install it on a flat, rigid vertical surface. Do not place it on the ground.
- Use the included mounting plate. For a fence, two 3/8 inch bolts or lag screws; for a wall, two 3/8 inch lag screws. Then reinstall the float arm assembly and pin.
- Wrap the supply-line pipe threads, including the valve threads, with Teflon thread sealing tape, then connect the water supply to the float assembly.
- Turn on the water and check that the waterer fills and shuts off properly. The water level is preset, and minor adjustments can be made if you want them.
Good to know
- Mounting plates come with the waterer. Other mounting and water connection hardware is not included, so buy your fittings before you start.
- Keep the water supply within 20 to 50 pounds per square inch.
- Shut off the supply while you work on the float or the arm.
- If your area freezes, plan for the supply line in winter before the cold arrives.

Cautions
Not intended for use inside a home.
CAUTION: Rotating the arm too far up or failing to secure the float mounting screw and nut may prevent the waterer from stopping the water supply flow and run continuously.
DO NOT overtighten any fitting or supply line connection.
Note: DO NOT wrap garden hose with heat tape as softening and leaks may develop.
Set it up before the first hot week of summer.
