A hand-held leaf skimmer head for clearing floating leaves and loose debris from a pool surface.

Clear the surface before debris sinks

Leaves and floating debris are easiest to remove while they are still on top of the water. A quick pass with a skimmer can keep them from soaking, breaking apart, and spreading through the pool. The JED 40-364 has a one-piece plastic frame and a nylon mesh net for collecting material from the surface. It is a practical tool for everyday cleanup after wind, yard work, or a busy afternoon around the pool. Keep it near the pool so a small amount of debris does not turn into a longer cleanup later.

Choose a head for hand use or a pole

This model is a skimmer head without a pole. Hold it by hand for spots close to the edge, or attach it to a compatible telescopic pole when you need extra reach. That makes the same head useful for a small above-ground pool, a section of an in-ground pool, or a quick pass along the wall. The connection lets you use equipment you already own instead of adding another long-handled tool to storage. Check that your pole connection fits before heading to the water.

Work in steady passes

Move the net slowly across the surface so leaves and light debris collect inside rather than slipping over the rim. Sweep from the far side toward a wall, then lift the net clear of the water before emptying it. Avoid dragging a loaded net across the pool floor, where grit can scrape the surface or escape back into the water. The mesh gives you room to gather loose material while keeping the frame manageable during routine maintenance.

Keep the net ready for the next cleanup

After use, rinse away leaves and fine debris, then let the net drain before storing it. Clearing the mesh helps it stay open for the next pass and keeps decomposing plant matter from sitting in the net between cleanings. Pair it with a pole when reaching the middle of the pool matters, or keep it hand-held for quick edge work.
