Set up a fresh-water station at the end of a hose and let your dog drink when it wants. The L-100 turns a standard hose into a self-watering waterer for dogs and other medium to large pets, and water flows only while your dog is at the tongue trigger. No hose running all afternoon, and no bowl to tip over.
It is built to live outside. The body resists rust and corrosion, which is exactly what outdoor use asks of it. There is nothing to install: it screws on without tools and is ready to use as soon as the water is on.
Highlights
- Tongue-triggered flow conserves water between drinks
- Fits a standard half-inch hose or pipe fitting
- Resists rust and corrosion for outdoor use
- No tools or installation needed
- Made for dogs and other medium to large pets
Why a hose-end dog waterer?
A water bowl outdoors gets knocked over, filled with leaves and dirt, and tipped by a playful dog. It also needs refilling more than once a day when the heat builds. A hose-end waterer keeps the supply at the source, so your dog has steady water while you work the garden, feed the chickens or run to the truck.
This setup suits a backyard dog run, a fenced yard or a kennel where a bowl would sit in the sun all day. Dogs that spend their days outside in the Panhandle heat drink a lot of water, and a waterer that refills on its own takes that chore off your list. The trigger releases water only when your dog drinks, so nothing runs down the driveway while nobody is watching.
Most dogs learn the trigger with a little patience, so plan a few minutes of showing them how it works. It is a simple upgrade for a dog that already knows how to drink from a bowl.

How to use it
Connect it once, then leave it on the hose.
- Check that your spigot takes a standard half-inch hose or pipe fitting.
- Screw the L-100 onto the hose or fitting by hand. No tools are needed.
- Turn the water on slowly and check the connection for drips.
- Set the waterer at a height your dog can reach easily, and show your dog how the trigger works.
Good to know
- Use a hose hanger or reel to keep the line out of the dog run.
- Set the hose in a shaded spot where you can, so the water stays cooler in summer.
- Run the water for a few seconds before your dog drinks, since a hose left in the sun can heat up.
In freezing weather, disconnect the waterer and drain the hose so water does not freeze inside the line. A waterer that comes off the spigot for winter is ready to go again when the warm days return.
Rinse the trigger area now and then to keep it clean and moving freely.
