Keep your rabbits and other small animals fed between chores with a feeder that dispenses a little at a time. The gravity design lets feed flow down as the animal eats, so one filling holds several days' worth of feed and saves you a morning refill. The hinged lid covers the feed and keeps it tidy in the hutch.
The body is heavy-gauge galvanized steel that is chew-proof and rust-resistant, which is what a hutch needs when a rabbit gets bored and a damp corner stays wet. The independent wire hooks hang it inside the hutch, or you can cut a little wire to fill it from outside.
Highlights
- Gravity feed dispenses a little at a time
- Hinged metal lid covers the feed
- Independent wire hooks for hutch mounting
- Chew-proof, rust-resistant galvanized steel
- Fill from inside or outside the hutch
Why a gravity feeder beats a bowl in the hutch
A loose bowl in a hutch gets kicked over, tipped and filled with bedding. A gravity feeder keeps the feed in one place and drops more as it is eaten, so the animal has a steady supply and you are not refilling a bowl every time you pass by. Rabbits eat in small bites through the day, and this feeder is built around that habit.
Choose metal when the hutch takes a beating. Galvanized steel is tough on chewing and holds up to moisture better than thin plastic. The lid also keeps dust, bedding and droppings out of the feed between fillings.
It suits a backyard rabbit keeper, a 4-H family with a few hutches, or anyone keeping small animals in a hutch and run setup. The hooks make it easy to hang inside, and the outside fill option lets you top it off without reaching into the hutch.

How to use it
Hang it, fill it and let gravity do the work.
- Hang the feeder inside the hutch with the independent wire hooks, where the animal can reach it and the bedding stays out of the way.
- If you want to fill from outside, cut a little wire so the lid reaches the outside of the hutch.
- Fill the feeder, close the hinged lid and check the feed level once a day.
- Empty old feed and wipe out dust before refilling, so fresh feed goes on clean.
Good to know
- Pair it with a water bottle or crock in the same hutch, so feed and water sit together.
- Rabbits chew, so check the hooks and seams every few weeks and retie any loose wire.
- When you switch feeds, empty the feeder first so the old and new feed do not mix.
Keep the feeder out of damp corners. Galvanized steel holds up well, but wet feed spoils faster than dry, so move the feeder to a drier spot in the hutch when the weather turns wet.
