Slow-dissolving stabilized chlorine tablets for continuous pool sanitation through a compatible feeder.

For routine chlorine delivery

Trichlor tablets are made for a controlled feeder or floater, where water contact lets the sanitizer dissolve over time. That steady feed suits routine pool maintenance. It is a different job from shocking a pool, which uses a separate product and its own label directions. Use a reliable test kit to check free available chlorine and pH. Clear water alone does not show that sanitizer is in range, and a feeder setting should be adjusted from test results rather than appearance.

Let test readings guide the feeder

Maintain free available chlorine between 1 and 3 ppm, with pH from 7.2 to 7.6. Tablet demand changes with weather and bather load. Check the feeder regularly and refill as needed, then confirm the chlorine level with a kit or test strips. The normal daily amount is a starting reference, not a substitute for testing. Follow the feeder maker’s directions so tablets dissolve at a controlled rate and the pool does not drift outside the target range.

Watch stabilizer as chlorine is added

Trichlor adds cyanuric acid along with chlorine. Stabilizer helps reduce chlorine loss in sunlight. Establish a measured cyanuric acid level before relying on this treatment. Keep a separate stabilizer result in your pool log. If you replace water or make a large correction, test again rather than assuming the earlier reading still applies. Balanced pH and a known chlorine residual work together; one cannot stand in for the other.

Use a compatible dispenser

Place tablets in a suitable floating or stationary feeding device, such as an automatic chlorinator, and follow that device’s instructions. Use skimmer application only when the skimmer and piping to the pump are plastic. Never feed another product through the skimmer while these tablets are in use. Direct contact can damage vinyl liners or other bleachable surfaces. Trichlor is a strong oxidizer. Keep it dry and isolated from other chemicals, and never mix it with another product.

Active ingredients

Trichloro-s-triazinetrione 98.6%. Other ingredients 1.4%. Total 100.0%. Available chlorine 90%. Stabilized chlorinating tablets. EPA Reg. No. 69681-15.

Directions for use

SWIMMING POOL DISINFECTANT. This product, when used as directed, is effective as a swimming pool water disinfectant.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Read entire label and use strictly in accordance with precautionary statements and use directions.

SUPERCHLORINATION: Superchlorination is necessary at the beginning of the bathing season, whenever the pool is filled, every week during hot weather, and following heavy rain or windstorms. Superchlorinate the pool with a suitable granular product by following directions on that product’s label. Keep pump-filter system running for at least 10 hours after treatment. Frequency of treatment is dependent on ambient temperatures and bather load. DO NOT reenter pool until the chlorine residual has dropped to 1.0 – 3.0 ppm.

MAINTENANCE TREATMENT: Ensure all pool equipment and systems are in proper working condition, and that the water is balanced. When using other products as outlined in directions for this product, always follow directions on those products. Adjust and maintain pool water pH in the range of 7.2-7.6 as indicated by a suitable test kit. Superchlorinate the pool with a suitable granular product to establish a free available chlorine residual of 1.0 – 3.0 ppm. For maximum effectiveness, it is recommended that the pool be first stabilized with 25-35 ppm of Cyanuric Acid to reduce chlorine loss in sunlit pools. This product introduces chlorine and additional Cyanuric Acid into the pool to assure a stabilizing effect.

APPLICATION: IN FLOATERS AND CHLORINATORS: Dispense this product in an appropriate floating or stationary feeding device, such as an automatic chlorinator. Fill the feeder with this product and adjust the feeding mechanism to provide a continuous level of 1.0 – 3.0 ppm free available chlorine in the pool as determined by a test kit or test strips. Always follow feeder manufacturer’s instructions. Chlorine demand will vary with weather and degree of pool use, but, normally, about 2 ounces of this product per 10,000 gallons of water will be needed daily. The feeding device should be checked regularly and refilled as needed.

IN SKIMMERS: This product may be dispensed through the pool skimmer if the skimmer and piping to the pump is plastic. Never add other products through the skimmer when using this product as fire and explosion may result. Initially add one of this product to the skimmer per 10,000 gallons of water. Additional product should be added as necessary to maintain a free available chlorine residual of 1.0 – 3.0 ppm as determined by a test kit.

Caution: This product may cause damage to vinyl liners or other bleachable surfaces with direct contact.
