Quick Change Heavy Harness Split Reins, 5/8" x 7

You get a set of reins that lets you change bits about as fast as you open a gate latch. Solid brass scissor snaps clip straight onto the bit ring, so there's no threading and no untying a rein you just got adjusted where you want it.

Heavy harness leather holds up to daily riding. The solid brass is non-rust, so a wet week won't leave the snaps rusted. Split reins give you the option of one hand or two, and you can drop a side when you need to.

• Wipe off sweat and mud after a ride, then work in a little leather conditioner so the reins stay supple and don't crack at the fold.
• Snap both reins to the bit rings before you mount and check that the scissor snaps are fully closed.
• Hang the reins straight in the tack room rather than coiled tight, and they'll hang clean the next time you pick them up.
