Your horse's back carries the whole ride, so put wool against it. The 100% soft lambs wool bottom is breathable, wicks moisture away and stays non-chafing against the hide through a long day in the saddle. It works with the weather too, cool on a hot afternoon and warm when the morning starts cold.

A heavy felt center takes the sweat and the squeeze of the cinch, the southwest design on top stands up to daily tacking, and top grain wear leathers take the rub from the stirrups and fenders. Crafted in the USA, sized square for a working trail saddle.

Good to know

  • Brush dried sweat and hair off the wool after a ride and lay the pad flat to air out instead of folding it, so the felt keeps its shape.
  • Keep a second pad in the trailer for wet weather. A dry pad under the saddle is easier on your horse than a damp one.
  • Set the pad so it clears the front of the saddle and lies smooth at the withers before you cinch.
  • Pair it with a square-skirt trail saddle for full coverage over the bars.

Trail season fills up fast, so get your pad squared away before the first long ride.
