A hot spot moves fast. A patch of licking and scratching turns raw and angry in a day, and a dog that keeps working at it never gives the spot a chance to settle. Sulfodene Hot Spot & Itch Relief Medicated Spray provides immediate relief from itching caused by hot spots and allergies.
Its moisturizing formula helps give relief to dogs with hot spots, scrapes and abrasions, which makes it a useful spray for the dog that gets into brush, the hunting trip and the farm chores. The spray lets you treat just the affected spot, even on a dog that will not hold still.
The active ingredients are benzethonium chloride at 0.2% and DL-panthenol at 0.05%, and aloe vera conditions the skin and coat.

Why choose a medicated spray for hot spots
Hot spots start with moisture and irritation under a coat, and the scratching and licking that follow can spread them fast. A spray reaches the patch quickly, which is far easier than working a salve into a spot the dog will not hold still for.
Who it suits: dog owners who hunt or run farm dogs, households with a dog that scratches a lot in summer, and anyone who keeps a first-aid kit for the dog in the truck.

How to use it
Clean the area gently and let it dry before you spray.
- Part the coat over a hot spot so the spray reaches skin instead of hair.
- Spray 6 to 8 inches from the affected area, avoiding the eyes, mouth and mucous membranes.
- Clip the hair back around a raw patch to let air reach it and keep the spray where it belongs.
- Use as often as needed for continued relief. Do not use on puppies under 6 weeks of age. If symptoms persist, call your veterinarian.
Good to know
- Keep the dog from licking the treated area until the spray dries.
- If a spot keeps spreading, or the skin looks worse after a few days, have your vet look at it.
- For a deep wound, a puncture or a bite that has gone deep, call your vet rather than relying on a spray.
- Keep a bottle in the barn kit and the truck, so it is there when the scratching starts.
Cautions
Store at room temperature.
WARNING: For external use only. Keep out of reach of children.
Tuck a bottle in the barn kit now, before the summer itch sets in.
