These are work boots that happen to look like cowboy boots. The genuine leather upper takes scuffs, mud and stall duty without complaint, and the square toe gives your toes room when you have been on your feet since the first feeding.
Memory foam cushioning forms to the shape of your foot, and the X-Treme orthotic insole supports the arch through a long day in the aisle or on the fence line. The slip-resistant rubber outsole grips wet concrete and alley floors, and the breathable mesh lining helps keep you cool when the afternoon turns warm.

Why a work boot with a cushion
People who work with animals and tools spend most of the day on their feet, and a boot built for standing needs more than a good-looking upper. Memory foam and an orthotic insole are the difference between a boot you wear for a morning and one you wear all day.
Leather is the right material for barn and fence work. It takes scuffs and mud, wipes clean, and can be conditioned back to supple after a season. A rubber outsole suits wet concrete and feed-room floors, where grip counts for more than a smooth sole.
Who it suits: the woman who works the barn in the morning and goes to town in the afternoon, the feeder who walks the aisles all morning, and anyone who wants a work boot in a Western shape.

How to use it
Try them on late in the day, in the socks you will work in. Walk the length of the store and check that your heel stays put and your toes have room. Break them in around the barn for a few short days before a full shift, so the leather softens at the flex points.
After a muddy day, wipe the boots down and let them air out away from direct heat. Give the mesh lining time to dry before the next wear.
Good to know
- Pair them with jeans or work pants that break over the shaft, and add a Western belt in the same style for a finished look.
- Wear a thin sock for stalls and a heavier sock for cold mornings, and try the boots on with the sock you pick.
- Condition the leather a few times a season so it does not dry out and crack at the flex points.
- Wipe mud off while it is damp and let the leather air-dry at room temperature, never on a heater.
About Durango
Durango was founded in Flowery Branch, Georgia, in 1966, and the company is now headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee. In 2010 the Rebel put a traditional western upper on the sole of an athletic shoe, and riders and workers have liked it ever since for being lightweight and comfortable.
Fencing, feeding and hauling season comes whether the boots are ready or not, so get yours broken in ahead of it.
