A horse that's sore after work or stiff before it starts needs something quick to rub on the legs and back. This spearmint-scented gel brings warm, targeted relief to muscles and joints, and its smooth, easy-to-use formula goes on without fuss.
It is the gel form of the classic Absorbine liniment and uses the same blend of calendula, echinacea and wormwood herbs, with menthol to help loosen stiff joints and reduce swelling. It is made for temporary soreness from overexertion and minor injuries, and for arthritis pain.
Rub it in before activity to loosen stiff muscles, or after work to ease a horse that is sore.
Highlights
- Targeted warmth for sore muscles and joints
- Spearmint scent with natural menthol
- Easy-to-use gel formula
- Calendula, echinacea and wormwood extracts
- Works before a workout or after
Why choose a gel liniment
A gel stays where you put it. It is easier to work into the legs and back than a runny liquid, and it packs easily for a trailer trip or a show weekend.
It is for pre-ride rubs and post-workout set-up wraps, the stiff morning after a long haul, and a horse with arthritis pain that needs a rub before it goes to work.
It suits barrel racers, trail riders and show horses, plus the weekend rider whose horse comes out of the stall sore after a fresh ride.

How to use it
Rub the gel in thoroughly where it is needed, following the lay of the hair.
- For the legs, rub it in thoroughly three or more times a day to relieve pain and reduce swelling.
- Apply the gel with the lay of the hair, then wrap lightly to speed effectiveness.
- Use it for pre-workout rubs and post-workout set-up wraps.
- For the back, shoulder and flank, rub it in thoroughly for soreness and stiffness, three times daily.
- Do not apply Gel under the saddle area if you're going to ride the horse after treatment.
Good to know
- Keep a bottle in the tack room for the next workout or stiff morning.
- Wash your hands after application, and keep the gel away from the horse's eyes.
- If a leg stays hot or swollen after work, call your vet rather than rubbing it on again.
- Pair it with clean leg wraps for the post-work set-up.
