A hose-end siphon mixer draws a concentrated solution from a separate container into flowing water.

Start with the job this tool does

The Syphonject is for applying a liquid solution through a garden hose. A suction tube reaches into a separate container, and water moving through the mixer pulls the concentrate into the stream. That can simplify feeding or cleaning across a connected area compared with carrying a small container from plant to plant. It is an injector, not a tank sprayer: the solution source stays outside the hose and the diluted mixture exits through the attached hose and tool. Use it only for solutions whose product directions permit hose-end application.

Use the product's controls with care

The nominal dilution is about 20 parts water to one part concentrate, but the actual ratio depends on water pressure, hose, and nozzle. Treat that number as a starting point, not a fixed calibration for every garden. Measure the installed setup with known container volumes before choosing a solution strength. Then prepare the solution according to the fertilizer or cleaning product directions. This matters because a strong or weak mixture changes the amount of active solution delivered across the area.

Fit the tool to the area

Flow conditions affect whether the injector draws. Low pressure, restricted end tools, and long or low-volume hose runs can prevent siphoning. If the solution does not draw, check the setup instead of adding more concentrate. The unit has an anti-siphon feature: water may exit through the side opening if pressure is lost, helping keep solution from being pulled back into the water source. Keep the source container stable and outside the path of foot traffic while watering. Do not drink from a hose that has carried a solution. Disconnect the unit from the faucet after use. Before applying anything, confirm the chosen product permits hose-end use and identify the area the mixture will reach. Keep people and pets away while applying solutions, and avoid spraying surfaces or plants that the product label excludes. Work in a steady pass so one section does not receive substantially more mixture than another. When the job is complete, follow the solution label for any cleanup or disposal steps, then rinse the injector only as directed.

Mixing a Concentrated Solution

Determine how much solution you will need. Certain fertilizers require an application of a specific amount of product over a specific area. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations. Prepare a water/fertilizer solution that is 20 times stronger than the rate normally used. For each gallon of water used in your solution, mix in 20 times the manufacturer's recommended rate of fertilizer. For each gallon of concentrated solution you prepare, your Syphonject will apply 20 gallons of correctly diluted solution.

Determine the ratio of your syphonject.

What you will need:

  1. A large container you know the Volume of (Example - 5 Gallon Bucket)
  2. A Small container you know the volume of (Example - 1 Quart Bottle)

Step 1: Set up the Syphonject on the Faucet. Connect the hose to it.

Step 2: Fill the small container with clear water (example - 1 Quart) and place the small black siphon hose into it.

Step 3: Hold the end of the hose in the large container (example - 5 Gallon Bucket)

Step 4: Turn on the water and fill the large container until the small container is empty.

Step 5: Measure the amount in the large container (Example - 4 Gallons)

Step 6: Calculate the ratio. 5 gallons (20 Quarts) to 1 Quart = 20: 1

CAUTION! Do not use the Syphonject to apply pesticides, fungicides or poisons. Do not drink from a hose that has had fertilizers, chemicals or any other solutions through them. Follow all manufacturer's recommendations. Detach the Syphonject from your faucet after use.
