A horse that comes in off a hard ride or a long hot day is running low on what sweat took out. DuraLyte is an electrolyte and trace mineral supplement for horses, apple flavored for increased palatability. It is designed to support normal recovery time after strenuous activity and to help maintain a normal electrolyte balance, year round.
Mix it into the feed, or dilute it in the water bucket. If you use the water, dilute one ounce per five gallons and allow no other source of drinking water. The enclosed scoop measures about one ounce, which makes the 3 to 4 ounce rate for a high-performance horse easy to hit. At maintenance rates, the container is up to an 80-day supply.

Why choose an electrolyte for the working horse
Sweat carries electrolytes out of the horse, and a long day in the heat or a hard show weekend can leave him short. Getting the right minerals back into the horse helps him recover to normal sooner. A horse that won't drink well on a hot trip is the one who needs help most, and a flavored supplement gets electrolytes into the bucket on the days it counts.
It suits the weekend trail rider, the ranch horse on a long working day, and the show barn that runs horses through the summer heat.

How to feed it
Match the amount to the work your horse is doing. The scoop in the container measures about one ounce.
- High performance horse: 3 to 4 ounces per day.
- Moderate exercise: 2 to 3 ounces per day.
- Maintenance or light work: 1 to 2 ounces per day.
- Mix into feed, or dilute one ounce per five gallons of drinking water.
- If you dose the water, allow no other source of drinking water.
Good to know
- Weigh a scoop once on a kitchen scale so you know exactly what it holds.
- Weigh or tape your horse now and then, so the daily rate keeps pace with his condition and work.
- If your horse turns up his nose at flavored water, stir the day's ounces into his feed instead.
- When the dose goes in the water, check the bucket twice a day, since it is his only source of drinking water.
- Keep a container on the tack room shelf so a hot haul or a long trail day doesn't catch you short.
Hay season and the first heat wave both arrive fast, so have a container on the shelf before they do.
