Why choose electrolytes over salt alone

Loose salt gives a horse sodium, and sodium is only part of what a sweating horse loses. Potassium, calcium and trace minerals leave with the sweat too, and they matter for muscle function. A horse that works hard in summer heat is better covered by a product that addresses the whole set than by a salt lick alone.

How to use it

There are two ways to feed it, both at 2 oz:

1. Drinking water: 2 oz per 10 gallons of fresh water.
2. Daily ration: 2 oz in place of salt.

When you give it in water, allow no other source of drinking water. The enclosed scoop holds 1 oz.

Good to know

• Start it before the hard work and the hot haul, not after the horse is already flat.
• Electrolytes support the water a horse drinks. They do not replace it, so offer water on the trailer on long hauls too.
• When you feed it in the ration, keep fresh water within easy reach after a hard session.
