When a young animal needs a bottle, the bottle has to fill easily, clean quickly and stay put. This Lixit Farm Babies bottle is built for that job. The wide mouth fills and cleans without a fight, and the screw cap holds the rubber nipple in place while the animal feeds, so the nipple doesn't come off when a hungry baby pulls.
Capacity markings on the side let you measure each mix before it goes in, so you aren't guessing. The bottle is made of heavy-duty, BPA-free plastic. It comes complete with the bottle, the screw cap and a natural-feeling rubber nipple, so it's ready to use the day it arrives.

Why a screw cap matters
A nipple that slides off mid-feed means spilled milk, a hungry baby and a wet pen. A screw cap clamps the nipple in place, so the animal can pull hard without popping it loose. That's the difference between a feed and a chase around the pen.
Bottle feeding is an everyday job on a farm with young stock. Goats, lambs, crias and piglets all need a bottle sometimes, whether it's a twin that needs help, an orphan or a youngster that needs an extra feed. This bottle suits a family goat herd, a small sheep flock, a farm nursery and a zoo or wildlife program raising small young animals.

How to use it
Measure the mix against the side markings before you pour, and warm it to body temperature for the animal you're feeding.
Fill through the wide mouth with the nipple off, then screw the cap down so the nipple seats firmly. Give the nipple a gentle tug before you hand the bottle over.
Hold the bottle at a slight upward angle so the animal draws milk, not air, and let the young one feed at its own pace.
After each feed, rinse the bottle and nipple in warm water, then wash them in hot soapy water and let them air dry. Replace the nipple when it cracks, gets sticky or starts to pull apart.
Good to know
- Keep a second bottle and nipple on hand, so a feed never waits on a wash.
- Pair the bottle with a clean measuring pitcher and a pail kept just for feed, so every mix is consistent from one feed to the next.
- Store the bottle clean and dry, out of direct sun, so the plastic stays clear and the nipple doesn't dry out.
