Split one faucet into two hose connections and control each branch with its own shut-off valve.

Keep two hoses connected

A single outdoor faucet often serves more than one job. This Gilmour Y connector gives it two hose outlets, each with its own shut-off valve. Leave a hose attached to each branch and choose which branch receives water at the connector. That is useful when a sprinkler hose needs to stay in place while another hose is used elsewhere in the yard. You can change the branch without repeatedly removing the hose from the faucet.

Separate valves at the connection

The twin valves put the controls where the hoses meet the faucet. Open the branch you want to use and close the one you do not. Check the position of both controls when setting up a watering job. Leaving both branches open shares the available supply between the connected hoses, so watch the watering pattern at the sprinkler before deciding the setting is right for your layout.

Polymer body and cap-style handles

The connector uses rustproof polymer construction. Its cap-style valve handles are designed to resist breakage. The legs extend the hose connections away from the faucet, helping reduce kinks right at that crowded point. Full ball and retainer rings help reduce leakage, including at low pressure. These details matter most when hoses need to turn downward from a faucet mounted close to the wall.

Keep it to the intended job

Use this connector for outdoor garden-hose watering. It is not recommended for hot water. Check that there is room for the Y body and both hoses before installing it beside a wall or hose reel. The branches need space to take their natural route away from the connector. Avoid forcing a hose sharply around the other branch just to make everything fit under the faucet.

How to use it

Turn off the faucet, attach the inlet and connect the hoses. Start threaded connections straight. Set the branch valves for the outlets you intend to use, then open the faucet and inspect the joints. Adjust each branch as needed while checking the connected watering tool. Shut off the faucet before taking the connector apart or changing its mounting position. Keep the individual controls accessible so you can reach them during the job.
