When the flock is stressed, the drinking water is the easiest place to help. Hydro-Hen mixes into the water and brings three things at once: probiotics, electrolytes and acidifiers. It supports digestion and gut health for all species and ages of poultry, from a small backyard flock to a mixed group of chickens, ducks and turkeys.

Mixing it is quick. One scoop goes into a gallon of water, and it can go in the waterers during the times your flock is under strain: a move, a heat wave, a new group of birds, or a run of cold snaps. Birds drink steadily through the day, so the water reaches the whole flock.

Highlights

  • Probiotics, electrolytes and acidifiers in one mix
  • Supports digestion and gut health
  • Mixes simply into drinking water
  • For all species and ages of poultry
  • Contains live, naturally occurring microorganisms

Why put a supplement in the water

A powder in feed gets picked over, and a bird that is off feed skips it altogether. A solution in the drinking water is a dependable way to reach every bird, including the ones that are slowing down. It fits into the watering routine you already have, so there is no extra chore to remember.

Who it suits: backyard flock keepers with a few hens, a small farm with a mixed flock of ducks and turkeys, or anyone who has to move birds to a new coop and wants the transition to go smoothly.

How to use it

Mix Hydro-Hen into drinking water as follows.

  1. Add one scoop to one gallon of water, mixing until the powder dissolves completely.
  2. During times of stress, offer the solution free choice, alongside clean, fresh water without Hydro-Hen.
  3. Or offer the solution as the only drinking water for up to 12 hours in each 24-hour period.
  4. Give clean, fresh water without Hydro-Hen for at least 12 hours out of every 24, and discard unused solution after 24 hours.

The enclosed scoop holds about 10 grams of dry powder by weight. Store the product in a cool, dry area away from rodents and insects, because it is perishable.

Good to know

  • Mix a fresh batch when you need it, and throw out any solution left after 24 hours.
  • Clean the waterers before you refill them with the solution, so the flock gets the full benefit.
  • Pair it with clean feed and a dependable waterer, and keep a second waterer on hand for a large flock.
  • Watch the flock during the stressful stretch. A bird that is not drinking or eating needs attention, and a vet can help you find the cause.
