Every barn runs on the same small gear: a bridle for the morning ride, a halter for the pasture and a lead rope for everything in between. This K&D hanger gives each piece a place to hang, so the gear comes off the floor, out of the dirt and into your hand the moment you need it.
Hung up, bridles and halters air out instead of sitting in a pile, and lead ropes stay clear of the knots that cost you minutes before a ride. The frame is compact enough for a tack-room wall or a stall front, and it works in the wash rack or the trailer too, wherever the day's gear ends up.
Highlights
- Holds bridles, halters and lead ropes
- Gets tack off the floor and out of the way
- Helps cut down on clutter and tangles
- Works in tack rooms, stalls, wash racks and trailers
- Compact frame for a wall or stall front
Why hang tack instead of piling it
A pile is where tack takes the most punishment. A bridle wedged under a saddle, a lead rope knotted in a corner and a halter stepped on in the dark all wear faster than gear that hangs. Off the damp floor and away from the boots and hooves that cross the barn aisle all day, tack stays cleaner and lasts longer.
A hanger also keeps the room in order. Riders, barn managers and lesson programs use hangers so anyone can find the right bridle at a glance, and a student is less likely to walk off with the wrong halter. It suits a backyard rider with one horse, a family with kids in the saddle and a lesson barn with gear for every student.

How to use it
Pick a spot at a comfortable height, within easy reach and clear of the path where a horse's head or a wheelbarrow passes. Allow room around the hanger for installation, removal and cleaning, and plan the mounting holes before you commit to the wall.
Hang bridles by the crown so the cheekpieces fall naturally and the reins don't kink. Put halters and lead ropes on the hanger the same way every time, so you know where to reach in the dark.
Hang up wet gear to dry, not in a closed trunk. Wipe bridles and halters down after a sweaty ride and let them air out on the hanger before you put them away.
Loop the lead rope over the hanger rather than dropping it on the floor. While you hang each piece, check the snaps and keepers so small repairs happen before the next ride.
Good to know
- Pair the hanger with a saddle rack for the rest of the tack, so the saddle, bridle and halter all have a home.
- Dry leather out of direct sun. Fast heat dries it out and can crack it.
