When a nursing female is not making enough clean milk, her litter feels it from the first day. Milkade is a supplement you mix into her food around whelping, so the routine is in place before the pups arrive and stays steady through early nursing. It is made for female dogs and built for breeders who want maternal support during pregnancy and after.
Five ingredients work together. Calcium gluconate supports milk production, and lactose gives her energy while she nurses. Sodium acetate and potassium citrate work to neutralize harmful acidity, and vitamin B1, thiamine, supports nerve health through pregnancy and nursing.

Why keep a lactation supplement in the whelping kit
Most breeders hope the whelping goes smoothly. A lactation supplement you already have on hand saves a scramble when the milk comes in slow or the pups need more from mom. It is far easier to start a routine on schedule than to start one in the middle of a litter.
It suits a breeder with a bitch that has had milk trouble before, a first-time mom, or a kennel that keeps a whelping kit ready for the season. Milkade is made for female dogs, so use it for brood bitches and keep it apart from feed meant for other animals.

How to use it
Start the routine before she whelps, and keep it going for 10 days after.
- Mix one bottle with a pint of water.
- Add the mixture to her food 4 to 5 days before whelping.
- Continue for 10 days after whelping.
Stir it into a small portion of her usual food first, so she takes the whole dose and not just the top of the bowl. Keep her water fresh and let her eat at her usual times, so the supplement goes down with a regular meal.
Good to know
- Mark the calendar for 4 to 5 days before her due date and 10 days after, so the course stays on track.
- Keep a bottle in the whelping kit so it is ready when she starts nesting.
- Pair it with a whelping box, clean bedding and a puppy scale so you can track weight gain in the first week.
- If a dam refuses to nurse or the pups are not gaining, call your vet right away. A supplement supports a good start, and it does not replace hands-on care.
