Flies find the soft spots first, so this mask covers the nose and ears and keeps the whole face in one piece of protection. The closure is the part that earns its keep: a replaceable absorbent strip soaks up fly spray and holds it near the face, so you get lasting repellency without spraying chemicals straight onto sensitive skin. When the closure wears out, swap it instead of the whole mask.

Mesh keeps air moving over the face and ears, with polar fleece at the edges to cut rubbing. The contoured neck sits close without feeling tight, and reflective piping over the nose helps your horse stay visible in low light. The top is breathable and lightweight, so it works through hot afternoons. Designed with horseman and inventor Brett Mills, founder of R.E.S. Equine.

Good to know

  • Soak the closure with fly spray before turnout, then let it settle so the repellent stays on the mask instead of running onto your horse's face.
  • Check the throat and nose fit before turnout so the contoured neck and fleece edges sit smooth.
  • Use the reflective nose piping as a quick visibility check when leading in dim light.
