Every spray line and plumbing run comes down to a clean connection, and this fitting makes one. The 1/2 inch male pipe thread threads into your pump, tank or manifold, and the 3/8 inch hose barb takes the hose, so the line goes back together in one piece.

Polypropylene is a good choice for chemical lines because it stands up to many chemicals that wear on metal and some plastics. It won't rust, so there's nothing to flake into a spray tank. Keep one in the box for the day a fitting cracks in the middle of a job.

Highlights

  • 1/2 inch male pipe thread
  • 3/8 inch hose barb
  • Precision-molded polypropylene
  • Stands up to many chemicals
  • Made for spraying and plumbing lines

What it's for

Fittings are small parts with big jobs. A barb that's the wrong size pulls air or won't seat, and a thread that doesn't match leaks at the first pressure spike. Keeping the right size on the shelf turns a leaking line into a quick fix instead of a shutdown.

It suits the sprayer owner who keeps a pump, tank and boom in good order, the farm with a plumbing line to a wash station or a hose bib, and anyone who handles chemicals and wants fittings that won't corrode. Match the barb to your hose, and the connection holds.

How to use it

  1. Wrap the male threads with thread-seal tape or use a sealant suited to the fluid you're running.
  2. Thread the fitting in snug. Plastic threads crack when they're overtightened.
  3. Check that the 3/8 inch barb matches the inside diameter of your hose so it seats without a gap.
  4. Slide a clamp over the hose and clamp it down behind the barb.
  5. Pressure-test with clean water before you run chemical through the line.

Good to know

  • Keep spares of the same thread and barb size on hand, since a mismatched part wastes a trip.
  • Store spares in a dry bin out of direct sun so the threads stay clean.
  • Pair it with the matching hose, clamps and line strainers from the same aisle.
  • Fits FIMCO Pro Series spray wands and FIMCO sprayer wand kits.

Grab a spare before the next spray day, not during it.
