Selenium and vitamin E are the pair that matters for growth, reproduction and immune function in sheep and goats. Selenium is important in the prevention of white muscle disease, and many areas have soil that runs low on it. This gel gets both into the animal by mouth, straight onto the back of the tongue.
No needle means no restraint wrestling and no injection site to keep an eye on afterward. The gel lasts longer than an injection and reduces the risk of injection site reactions, which is a real help when the flock is big or the day is long.
The dial-a-dose tube sets a newborn's dose at 2 gm or an adult's dose at 4 gm, so there is no measuring into a syringe in the middle of lambing.
Highlights
- Oral gel that skips the needle
- Lasts longer than an injection
- Reduces the risk of injection site reactions
- 200 IU of vitamin E and 1 ppm of selenium per 2 gm dose
- Dial-a-dose tube for newborns and adults
- Made for sheep, goats, lambs and kids
Why an oral selenium source
Selenium is a trace mineral, so the goal is the right amount, not more. A gel gives you a measured dose you can see, and the dial tube keeps newborn and adult doses separate.
Vitamin E works with selenium in the body, so pairing them in one gel keeps the routine to one step.
It suits a first flock with a few does, a larger flock that needs a steady routine, and a barn where lambs and kids arrive in a rush.

How to use it
Give orally on the back of the tongue, once every 30 days.
- Newborn: 2 gm (cc).
- Adult: 4 gm (cc).
- Repeat once every 30 days.
- Use it as the sole source of selenium, so check what your mineral already supplies before you add it.
Write the date on the tube. A 30-day schedule slips fast in the middle of a busy lambing or kidding season.
Good to know
- Keep a tube in the barn or the truck through lambing and kidding, so you can dose a newborn without a trip to town.
- This gel is meant to be the only selenium source, so ask your vet before you use it alongside a mineral or feed that already carries selenium.
- Keep the tube capped between doses and out of the sun.
- Mark the next dose date on the barn calendar as soon as you give one.
