Growth, breeding and recovery all ask a lot of a sheep or goat, and vitamin B-12 is one of the nutrients that keeps the work going. This liquid supports red blood cell production, nervous system function, sperm production, normal growth and proper immune function.
B-12 also supports appetite, energy and weight gain. It is a simple addition to the flock's routine when the animals could use that extra support.
Keep a bottle with your sheep and goat supplies for the stretches when the flock could use the help, like the run-up to breeding, a long winter or a stretch of slow growth.

Why a liquid B-12
Sheep and goats make much of their B-12 through microbes in the rumen, so a supplement is one way to cover the diet during demanding stretches.
A liquid is easy to add to the routine and easy to measure. It suits the first-time flock keeper, the 4-H kid with a few goats, and a growing herd that needs a steady plan.

How to use it
Give 10 cc to 20 cc of B-12 Liquid per day. Mix it into feed or give it by mouth with a dose syringe.
- Keep the bottle capped and away from heat between uses.
- Give young stock and any animal that is off feed a closer look, and call the vet if an animal is losing weight or seems weak.
- Write the start date in your records so you know how long each animal has been on it.
Good to know
- Keep a loose mineral with cobalt out for the flock, since rumen microbes need cobalt to make their own B-12.
- Keep it on hand through breeding and kidding or lambing, when appetite and energy matter most.
- Ask your vet for a plan if an animal seems anemic or slow to recover.
