Spraying and transfer work punishes a pump that isn't built for it. The Shurflo 2088 Series diaphragm pump is designed for high flow at moderate pressure, built for lines that see chemical all season. This 12 volt model is rated at 3.0 GPM and 45 PSI, so it keeps a steady pace for a rig on a truck, trailer or ATV.
It self-primes up to 12 vertical feet, so it draws from a tank, a tote or a pond without a separate priming step. It mounts in any position, and automatic demand starts the pump when you open the wand and stops it when you close it. A built-in rocker on/off switch, protected from the weather by a clear boot, lets you shut it down right at the pump, and the design is made for easy maintenance.

Why a diaphragm pump for spraying
A diaphragm pump suits chemical work because the fluid moves through diaphragms and valves rather than past the motor. That design handles spray mixes well, and it's a common choice for spray rigs and transfer work alike.
This pump fits a sprayer builder replacing a worn pump, a farm running a trailer or truck rig, a property owner moving water from a pond to a tank, or a crew doing transfer work. Automatic demand means it rests between jobs instead of running flat out, which suits a rig that sits on a trailer all week.

How to use it
Mount, plumb and prime the pump before the first spray day.
- Mount the pump where the plumbing runs short and straight. It works in any position.
- Connect the suction line to your tank, tote or pond, and the discharge line to the wand or boom.
- Wire it to a 12 volt supply and protect the circuit with a fuse.
- Run clean water through the system before you add any product, so the lines are primed and checked for leaks.
Good to know
- Because it primes itself, you can pull straight from a tank or stock pond without a separate step.
- Keep suction lines tight and clamped. A leak on the suction side pulls air and makes the pump struggle to prime.
- Flush with clean water after every chemical batch so the diaphragms and valves stay clean for the next fill.
- Keep a spare on the shelf so the sprayer doesn't quit halfway through a tank.
- Pair it with a strainer, hose, a pressure gauge and spray tips for a complete rig.
- Not approved for drinking water, so keep it on spray and transfer work.
About Shurflo
Shurflo is part of Pentair, which is focused on smart, sustainable water solutions that help the planet and people thrive. The 2088 Series is supported for agriculture and is used across spraying and transfer applications that call for flows of up to 4.0 GPM.
A spare pump on the shelf turns a dead sprayer into a quick swap.
