Routine lawn and garden jobs go faster with a sprayer that keeps spraying. An in-tank filter helps keep dirt and debris from clogging it, and the adjustable cone nozzle switches from a steady stream to a wider shower.

The translucent, rust-free polyethylene tank shows the fluid level at a glance. The ergonomic handle eases carrying and pumping, and the funnel-top opening fills with less splashing.

Highlights

  • Steady spraying with an in-tank anti-clog filter
  • Translucent tank shows the fluid level
  • Adjustable nozzle from stream to cone shower
  • Ergonomic handle for carrying and pumping
  • Funnel-top opening for less splashing

Why a hand-pump sprayer

A hand pump is the right tool for small, steady jobs: a weed patch along the walk, liquid fertilizer for the vegetable bed, aphids on the roses or a pass along the fence line. No battery, no gas engine, and no hose to haul out to the job.

It suits the gardener with a few beds, the homeowner with shrubs and fence rows, and the barn-side crew who needs a simple tool for weeds and pests. Keep one sprayer for one kind of job when you can, which prevents the cross contamination the cautions warn about.

How to use it

Fill the tank, close it tight, and pump until you feel firm pressure. Set the nozzle for a stream when you need reach, and turn it to the cone when you cover a wider area. Spray on calm days, and keep the wand low.

After every job, empty the tank, rinse it with clean water, and run clean water through the wand and nozzle until the spray runs clear. Let it drain before you store it.

Good to know

  • Keep eye protection on hand, since the cautions below call for it when you spray.
  • Store it drained, upright and out of freezing temperatures, so no water is left to crack the parts.
  • Never store chemicals in the sprayer. Empty the tank after use.
  • When the spray starts to fan or sputter, clean the filter and nozzle before you assume the sprayer is done.
  • Release the tank pressure before you open the pump to refill or clean the sprayer.

A clean sprayer ready in the shed is the easiest garden tool to use all season.

About Chapin

Chapin International started in 1884 in Oakfield, New York, when Ralph E. Chapin saw that customers with leaking kerosene cans needed something better. The company grew into storage tanks, pumps and compressed air sprayers, and it is still based in Western New York. Today it is one of the world's largest sprayer companies.

Cautions

Spray distance is dependent on many factors such as adjusted nozzle orifice size, tank pressure, wind interference and angle of inclination. Spray distances may vary based on user’s specific application.

Multiple chemicals in one sprayer can cause cross contamination, even if you clean your sprayer after each use.

Do not store chemicals in your sprayer when not in use

Always wear eye protection. Do not spray during windy conditions. Clean sprayer thoroughly after each use. Before using read and understand chemical manufacturer’s instructions and warnings as well as those above. FAILURE TO HEED ALL SAFETY WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Get the sprayer set up now, so the next weeding or feeding round goes without a trip back to the shed.
