This relief valve is for sprayer plumbing that needs a pressure ceiling and a place for the extra flow to go. It controls line pressure and returns excess liquid to the source or pump inlet, so you waste less mix.
The polypropylene body, EPDM O-ring and 302 stainless steel spring are the parts that sit in the spray solution. The male inlet and female outlet make the connection direction clear before you plumb it in.
Highlights
- Controls line pressure and cuts liquid waste
- Sends excess flow back to the tank or pump inlet
- Polypropylene body with an EPDM O-ring and 302 stainless steel spring
- Male inlet and female outlet
- Piston-type design rated at 150 psi
Why a relief valve earns its place
A pump keeps pushing as long as it runs. Without a relief point, pressure climbs when a nozzle clogs or a valve closes, and that strains hoses, fittings and the pump. The valve opens at its set pressure and sends the extra flow back.
It suits a sprayer that needs a steady pressure ceiling, a pump with more output than the nozzles use, or a line where clogs happen often. Returning the flow to the tank means the mix you pumped doesn't go to waste, and that matters when the mix is costly.

How to use it
Plumb the return line to the liquid source or pump inlet, and keep it free of kinks so the flow comes back freely. Match the inlet and outlet to your plumbing before you install: male inlet, female outlet.
Use thread-seal tape on the male threads and snug the connection without overtightening. Run clean water through the system before you spray, and watch for steady flow back to the tank and steady pressure at the nozzles.
Good to know
- Keep a spare on the shelf so a damaged valve doesn't stop a spray day.
- Flush the system with clean water after use so mix doesn't dry and harden in the valve.
- Pair it with a line strainer ahead of the valve to keep grit away from the spring and seat.
Drain the system before a freeze, so no trapped water cracks the body over winter.
About TeeJet
TeeJet valves and nozzles come from Spraying Systems Co., a world leader in spray nozzles. The company has held ISO 9001 certification at its US locations since 1996, and more than 50 billion gallons of fluid flow through its products every day.
A relief valve is cheap insurance for a pump, so keep one on hand before the next spray day.
