TeeJet DirectoValve AA6B Manual Control Valve

A boom sprayer is only as good as its control over each section. The DirectoValve gives you a manual valve to shut off a section by hand, without a complicated setup, so you spray where you mean to spray.

Its wetted parts are polypropylene, stainless steel and polyethylene, molded to resist corrosion, and it handles up to 150 psi. Flow is 12 GPM at a 5 psi pressure drop and 17 GPM at 10 psi. A molded-in mounting flange and a 1/4 inch NPT gauge port make it simple to fit to a boom, and you can repair the valve without pulling it off the spray line.

What it's for

Boom sprayers cover ground in sections, and a manual valve lets you turn off part of the boom when you reach an edge, a driveway or a patch you have already treated. It is a practical valve for growers and acreage owners who run a boom sprayer by hand.

How to use it

1. Mount the valve to the boom through the molded-in flange, and tighten the fasteners evenly.
2. If you want a pressure reading at the valve, fit a gauge to the 1/4 inch NPT gauge port.
3. Keep the valve at or below its 150 psi maximum.
4. Use a hex nipple to gang valves when you want separate boom sections.
5. Flush the boom with clean water after each job, then open the valve so the line drains.
6. To repair the valve, shut it off and relieve the pressure, then service it on the line.

Good to know

• Flow ratings are given at a 5 psi and a 10 psi pressure drop, so compare your pump output to those numbers when you size the boom.
• Work the lever through its positions at the start of each season, and service the valve on the line if it starts to weep.
• Keep a spare on the shelf before your next spray day.
• Pair the valve with nozzle bodies and boom hardware for the rest of the boom build.
