When it's time to dress game, a deep-bellied 4-inch blade gives you room for sweeping skinning cuts. The built-in gut hook is designed to open game smoothly without risking a puncture of the internal organs, which speeds up the work and helps preserve the meat. It's a knife built for the job from the first cut to the final skin removal.
The full-tang blade is 420J2 stainless steel, heat-treated and hand-finished to a sharp edge that holds up through repeated use. The blaze-orange rubberized TPR handle gives a non-slip grip even when it's wet or cold, and it's easy to find in low light. The Kryptek nylon belt sheath keeps the knife secure on your belt, ready for the next animal.

Why choose a fixed skinning knife
A fixed blade is the right tool for skinning. There's no folding joint to loosen and no lock to fail, and the full tang runs the blade steel through the handle so the knife stays solid through hard cuts. A deep belly gives you a broad cutting edge for long, sweeping strokes, which is what you want when you're taking a hide off in as few passes as possible.
Grip and visibility matter as much as the blade. Blood, cold hands and wet grips make a slick knife a hazard, so a textured, non-slip handle helps you keep control. The blaze-orange color helps you find the knife in brush, leaves or low light, which is handy on a cold, dark morning.
It suits a deer hunter working through a field-dressing kit, a hunter processing an elk or hog at camp or anyone who wants a dedicated skinning knife. The gut hook makes the opening cut quick, so it's a good pick for a first-time field dresser who wants a tool that helps.

How to use it
Work the knife the way it's built:
- Start the opening cut with the gut hook, guiding it through the hide with the edge facing away from the organs.
- Use the deep belly for sweeping skinning cuts, keeping the blade close to the hide.
- Wipe the blade clean and dry between animals, and before you put it in the sheath.
- Touch up the edge on a stone or steel when it starts to drag.
- Carry it in the nylon sheath on your belt, and store it dry between hunts.
