Fleas do not stay on the dog. Adults hop off to lay eggs, and those eggs roll into the carpet, the bedding and the truck seat, where new fleas hatch. This trigger spray goes after the adults and the eggs at once, so it breaks the flea life cycle instead of only catching the one hopping around the living room.
It also kills ticks, including deer ticks, and repels mosquitoes, so one bottle covers the pests your pets bring in from the woods, the tall grass and the yard. It dries fast and is unscented, which suits a pet that does not like a strong smell.
Highlights
- Kills adult fleas and flea eggs to break the life cycle
- Kills ticks, including deer ticks
- Repels mosquitoes
- Fast-drying, unscented trigger spray
- For dogs over 10 weeks and cats over 12 weeks
What it is for
Flea season is not a single week. Fleas can show up in any warm month, and a pet that goes outdoors in a Florida Panhandle summer can come back with a passenger. A monthly spray gives you a routine you can keep, so you are not reacting to a bad week of scratching.
A spray suits a multi-pet home. You can treat each animal on its own schedule and keep the treatments on a calendar. It is also a quicker job than a full bath: you spray until the coat is damp and let it dry.

How to use it
Weigh your pet first. The dose is about four squeezes of the trigger sprayer per pound of body weight, and short-haired pets may need less. Shake the bottle well.
- Ruffle the coat against the lay of the hair, cover the eyes with your hand, and spray the head, ears and chest with a firm, fast stroke. Spray any tick you see directly.
- Rub the face around the mouth, nose and eyes with a cloth. Then spray the neck, middle and hindquarters, finishing with the legs and tail.
- Spray until the coat is damp, not soaked, and do not let your pet get chilled.
- Avoid spraying the rectum and genitals.
- Repeat every month for continuous prevention.
Keep the spray and a damp pet away from painted or finished surfaces, including wood floors, furniture, leather and vinyl.
Good to know
- Only about 5 percent of fleas live on the pet. Treat the bedding, the carpet and the yard to get the rest.
- In a multi-pet home, keep the schedules straight. Dogs get no more than two treatments a month, at least 8 days apart. Cats get one.
- Ruffle the coat before spraying so the product reaches the skin, where fleas and ticks hide.
- Keep a bottle with your grooming kit for mosquito season and for ticks after walks in tall grass.
