Adams Plus Pyrethrin Dip

For a dog or cat that picks up more than fleas, this concentrate covers the whole run of pests: fleas, ticks, lice, gnats, mosquitoes and flies. You mix a fresh batch, sponge or dip the animal, and let it dry on the coat. Do not rinse it off.

It fits multi-pet homes and works on cats and dogs over 12 weeks of age. Aloe vera extract and lanolin are in the concentrate, and one tablespoon makes a working dip in a gallon of warm water. Mix it fresh every day, because diluted dip doesn't keep for later.

Why choose a dip for a busy house

A dip wets the coat all over, which a spot-on doesn't do. When you have two dogs, a cat and a fresh load of burrs from the creek bottom, one afternoon with a bucket gets everyone done.

Dips suit a dog back from the woods with ticks in its ears, a barn cat that gets into everything, or a family with several pets on one flea-season schedule. The concentrate keeps on the shelf until the next bath day.

How to use it

Mix a fresh batch for each use, and put it on a dry or damp coat, not a wet one.

1. Shake well before each use.
2. Mix 1 tablespoon (1/2 oz) of the dip with 1 gallon of warm water.
3. If the coat is very dirty, bathe first with an ADAMS shampoo.
4. Sponge or dip the animal, soaking all areas to the skin. Do not apply over cuts, wounds or irritated skin, and keep it away from the eyes and mouth. Apply sparingly around the ears.
5. Let the dip dry on the animal. Do not rinse off.
6. Use no more than one gallon of diluted dip per animal. Repeat every 7 days if needed.

Good to know

• Only about 5% of fleas live on your pet. Use this dip with ADAMS home and yard products for complete pest control.
• Make a fresh solution daily, and don't save what's left in the bucket.
• A clean coat takes the dip better, so the bath first is worth the extra time on a dirty dog.
• Wear protective eyewear and chemical-resistant gloves when you mix it, and keep the concentrate closed and away from children.
