A jumping round, a long trail ride or a haul down the road, and by evening the lower legs feel hot and full. EZ-Willow Poultice is the heavy-duty option for those nights. It's the maximum-strength poultice in the line, made for more serious soreness, inflammation or swelling after exercise.
The base is a clay paste with botanicals and essential oils. Arnica montana, white willow, turmeric root powder, Epsom salts and MSM add extra soothing and cooling action. It spreads on evenly, wraps under paper and cotton, and rinses off clean in the morning.
Highlights
- Maximum-strength clay poultice
- Helps draw heat and fluid from lower legs and hooves
- Arnica montana, white willow, turmeric, Epsom salts and MSM
- Spreads on evenly and rinses off with cold water
- Stays on up to 24 hours under a wrap
- Easy to apply and easy to get off
Why choose a clay poultice
A clay poultice stays on the leg and holds the cooling where you put it, while the horse rests in the stall. Clay is a practical base for the barn: it spreads smooth, it wraps under a bandage, and it comes off in one rinse.
Pick it for the jumper that takes a hard round, the trail horse that comes home after a long day, or the horse that rides in a trailer and arrives sore. A tub in the tack room is the easiest way to be ready for the night after the hard day.

How to use it
Start with clean legs, and lay out your wrap materials before you open the tub.
- Clean the legs with a non-medicated cleanser.
- Apply the poultice liberally, 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch thick.
- Cover it with a layer of paper first, then with a quilted wrap.
- Finish with a standing bandage.
- Remove the bandages and poultice after 24 hours.
- Remove all wraps and bandages, rinse with cold water, and repeat as needed.
For tightening only, apply it 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick to clean legs, cover with a layer of paper, and remove after 24 hours.
Good to know
- Lay out the wet paper, cotton, quilted pad and bandage first, so the leg goes from tub to wrap in one pass.
- Rinse with cold water rather than warm when the wraps come off in the morning.
- Keep a tub in the trailer for the night after a long haul.
- Lameness, a deep wound or a leg that's hot and painful in one spot is a call to your veterinarian, not a poultice job.
- Clean the legs before you apply, so dirt and sweat don't sit under the clay.
