Choose capacity by the job

The three larger oval tanks cover different working volumes. The 40-gallon ST40 measures 40.25 by 28.75 by 13.25 inches. The 75-gallon ST75 is 48.375 by 33 by 18.25 inches. The 100-gallon ST100 is 52.5 by 37 by 21 inches. Check the intended location against the outside measurements, then decide how much reserve the job calls for. A large tank takes more room and holds more water or feed, while the 40-gallon model is easier to fit where a long basin would crowd a passage.

A shape made for farm use

The oval outline has no sharp rectangular corners, and the molded rim gives a firm edge for handling the empty tank. Use the basin for a defined job such as watering, feed, hay, storage, or brooding chicks. Keep feed and water containers clean, and avoid switching a tank between unrelated materials without washing it first. Plan access before filling. Water adds substantial weight, so settle the tank on its support where it will remain rather than trying to reposition it full.

Drain without tipping

The ST40, ST75, and ST100 have a 3/4-inch drain fitting for a standard garden hose. A hose can direct water during emptying instead of releasing it beside the tank. Leave the fitting accessible, and plan where the hose will discharge so the water does not run across a walkway or collect against a building. Before refilling, inspect the basin and remove debris. The drain makes emptying easier, but it does not clean the tank by itself.

The same product family includes a 15-gallon ST15, measuring 29.75 by 23 by 8 inches. It shares the oval form and molded rim, but it is shallower and shorter than the ST40, ST75, and ST100. Choose by both capacity and physical fit: a deeper basin may suit a larger reserve, while a compact tub may work better where space is limited. Drain fittings are listed for ST40, ST75, and ST100; the ST15 does not share that feature. For any replacement, compare the named model and dimensions instead of relying on gallons alone.
