Ear mites are microscopic, but the scratching and head shaking they cause are impossible to miss. Mitex kills ear mites where they live, inside the ear, to help stop the itching and irritation they cause. The self-applicator bottle puts the solution in the ear without a lot of fuss.
Ear mite trouble shows up as head shaking, scratching, and dark debris in the ear that looks like coffee grounds. The mites cause intense itching, and the irritation can turn into infection if it is left alone. A short, steady course of treatment is the simplest way to work through that cycle.
Highlights
- Kills ear mites on contact to help stop itching and head shaking
- For dogs and cats 12 weeks and older
- Self-applicator bottle for simple ear treatment
- Once a day for 7 to 10 days
- Repeat in two weeks if needed
Why treat ear mites at the first sign
Ear mites spread. A dog or cat that sleeps with another pet, or a litter of puppies or kittens, can pass them around quickly. Starting treatment at the first sign of head shaking keeps the problem small and the bedding and the other pets out of it.
A self-applicator bottle is simpler at home than a loose dropper, especially on a dog that does not want to hold still. It lets you put the treatment where it needs to go in each ear, and a clean, repeatable routine is easier to finish than a messy one.

How to use it
Clean the ears first, then treat once a day for 7 to 10 days.
- Clean the ears. Gently wipe the outer ear with a cotton ball, and do not push anything down the canal.
- Place the ear mite treatment in each ear once a day for 7 to 10 days.
- Repeat in two weeks if needed.
If the ear looks red, swollen or painful, stop and call your vet before you continue.
Good to know
- Mark the 7 to 10 day course and the two-week repeat on the calendar, so the job gets finished.
- Ask your vet whether other pets in the home should be checked too.
- If the scratching continues after the course, have your vet check the ears. Infections can follow untreated mites, and a vet can see what is happening.
