A one-gallon, ready-to-use oil-based spray for horses. The current label gives cloth and fine-mist directions and limits spray use to two ounces per application.
Ready-to-use fly spray for the grooming routine
Pyranha Wipe N’ Spray is a ready-to-use oil-based spray for horses. The one-gallon bottle is suited to a stable that uses fly spray through the grooming season. The manufacturer describes it as citronella scented and formulated with lanolin coat conditioner. Its current gallon label lists pyrethrins at 0.10%, piperonyl butoxide at 1.00%, butoxypolypropylene glycol at 15.00%, and other ingredients at 83.90%. The other ingredients contain petroleum distillates. The label describes two ways to apply the product. To wipe it on, brush away dirt and dust first. Moisten a soft cloth without letting it drip, then rub it over the hair, preferably against hair growth. Give attention to the legs, shoulders, shanks, neck, and facial areas where flies are often seen. Brush the coat thoroughly after application. Repeat daily as needed. For spray use, apply a fine mist to the stable area and over and around stabled horses. The label says not to wet the horse’s skin and not to exceed two ounces per application. It does not state a one-to-two-ounce daily amount. Remove feed and water before treatment. The spray must not contact the animal’s eyes, nose, mouth, or sores. Do not use it on foals under 12 weeks, or on horses and foals intended for slaughter. Sensitive horses may develop skin irritation. If irritation occurs, hose the horse with water to remove the product; contact a veterinarian if it persists. This product is a pesticide, so storage and application details matter. Except when applying directly to horses, keep adults, children, and pets away until sprays have dried and the treated area is thoroughly ventilated. Except when applying to horses, avoid application that could contact people or pets directly or through drift. Remove or cover exposed food and drinking water before application. Wash thoroughly after handling, avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing, and wash contaminated clothing before reuse. If swallowed, call a poison control center or doctor immediately. Do not give the person liquid, do not induce vomiting unless directed by medical professionals, and give nothing by mouth to an unconscious person. The label warns that vomiting may cause aspiration pneumonia because the formula contains petroleum distillates. Store the gallon in a cool, dry place away from heat or open flame. If the container is empty, do not reuse or refill it; place it in the trash or offer it for recycling where available. For a partly filled container, contact the local solid waste agency. Never pour unused product into a drain. The individual gallon UPC is 791738114519. Pyranha’s catalog lists a separate four-gallon case with a different UPC, so this listing is one gallon.
