Credit 41 Extra puts a 4 lb/gallon glyphosate IPA and its surfactant in one jug. The tank gets the weed control and the spreading power in a single pour, with no second jug to haul and no separate adjuvant to measure. That leaves more of the morning for covering acres.

The surfactant helps the product get into the leaf. Credit 41 Extra is systemic, so it moves from the foliage into the root system. It has no soil residual, so it works on weeds that are up and growing and leaves weed seed in the ground alone.

Why choose a glyphosate with surfactant built in

A glyphosate on its own needs a surfactant to spread across waxy leaves. A premixed jug means one less purchase, one less measure and one less chance to get the ratio wrong during planting or burndown season.

How to use it

Read and follow the directions in full before you open the jug, and match the rate to the crop, the weed size and the timing. Weeds that have been mowed or grazed and have not regrown are harder to control, and dense growth calls for the higher rate within the range. Do not spray to the point of runoff.

  1. Add the product to water in the tank with agitation running, then top up.
  2. Keep the spray off green stems, foliage and exposed roots of crops, desirable plants and trees.
  3. Spray on a calm day and keep drift off gardens and neighboring property.
  4. Keep people and pets off treated areas until the spray solution has dried.

Heavy rain soon after a pass can wash the product off the leaves. Product applied four hours before rain or irrigation works best, so check the forecast first.

Good to know

  • Extra surfactant is not always needed. Add it when water volume is above 30 gallons per acre or the rate is below 24 fluid ounces per acre, and never for preharvest cotton or in-crop Roundup Ready cotton.
  • Mix and store it only in stainless steel, fiberglass, plastic or plastic-lined steel. It reacts with galvanized or unlined steel and can form a combustible gas.
  • The maximum is 8 quarts per acre per year on farm sites and 10.6 quarts on non-crop and tree sites, counting all glyphosate products together.
