A nest under the eave or above the back door is a job for the ground, not the top of a ladder. This aerosol shoots a jet up to 20 feet, so you keep your distance while you work. It drops wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, carpenter bees and mud daubers fast, and the residual action keeps working on the nest to help prevent re-nesting.

It is oil-based, CFC-free and ready to use from the can with no mixing. The spray has a dielectric breakdown voltage of 47,300 volts.

Highlights

  • Jet spray reaches nests up to 20 feet above the ground
  • Residual action takes out the entire nest and helps prevent re-nesting
  • Works on wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, carpenter bees and mud daubers
  • Oil-based, CFC-free and non-conductive up to 47,300 volts
  • Ready to use with no mixing

What it's for

Stinging insects don't wait for a convenient weekend. A paper nest can start small under a porch roof in spring and be a crowd by late summer. A can on the shelf lets you deal with it the day you find it, while it is still small.

Reach keeps you back from the nest, and residual action keeps working on it after the first knockdown. That combination suits anyone with a porch, a carport, a barn or an outbuilding who would rather not climb a ladder with a stick, and farm families with nests around the hay shed or the equipment shed.

How to use it

Find the nest and the entry point first, and note how far you can stand back and still reach it. Treat the nest in the evening or early morning, when the insects are gathered inside and less active.

Hold the can upright, stand a safe distance from the nest and not directly under it, and keep the wind at your back. Spray until the nest is soaked, then wait at least 24 hours before you take the nest down.

Follow the directions printed on the can before every use, and use it only for the outdoor jobs those directions cover. Keep children, pets and visitors clear while you work.

Good to know

  • Keep a can in the garage, shed or barn so a new nest meets a ready can.
  • Watch the spot for a few days after a nest comes down, since wasps out foraging can return.
  • Store the can upright, away from heat and out of reach of children and pets.

Replace the can when it runs low or the jet starts to sputter, since a weak spray won't reach a nest up high.
