Scatter bait on a barn floor does its job, but it also gets trampled, washed and kicked into the manure, and it leaves a mess to sweep up. This Starbar fly bait station gives the bait a place to sit. You apply bait without scattering it on the ground, and the built-in tray catches dead flies after they feed.
It works with Golden Malrin, QuikStrike, DuraStrike and Cyanarox baits, which makes bait rotation simple. Rotating approved baits helps manage fly bait resistance across a season. Set the station in the low areas of barns and in the spots you wash or sanitize often, where loose bait would be lost.

What it's for
Flies gather where it is warm, damp and full of manure: the low corners of a barn, the manure pile and the wash rack. Those are the spots for a station, because bait that sits where flies already hang out does more work than bait scattered across the floor.
The tray matters, because dead flies collect in one place you can empty instead of piling up in corners and feed alleys.
It suits horse barns, dairy and beef barns, hog barns and the wash area of a stable. Rotating approved baits through the season is the simple way to keep one active ingredient from doing all the work.

How to use it
- Use it only in the areas the scatter bait directions approve, as printed in the Cautions below.
- Load the station with an approved scatter bait, and measure the amount rather than pouring it in.
- Place or hang the station low, 1 to 4 feet off the ground, where flies collect and where children, pets and livestock can't get to it. Some baits call for a station mounted at least 4 feet up, so follow the bait's directions.
- Empty the tray and refresh the bait when it has been eaten or gets wet.
- In wash-down and sanitized areas, use the station so loose bait is not washed away.
Good to know
- Rotate the baits. Switch between approved scatter baits through the season, and keep a simple note of which bait went in each station.
- Keep manure moving. Flies breed in manure and wet bedding, so cleaning them out cuts the number of flies the station has to catch.
- Keep it clean. Empty the tray before it fills, rinse the station when it gets dirty, and let it dry before you refill.
- Keep bait out of reach. Set stations so children, pets and livestock cannot get into the bait, and store bait in its original container.
- Replace it when it cracks. If the plastic splits or the tray won't seat, a new station keeps the bait where it belongs.
- Scatter bait is sold separately.
