A diglycolamine-salt dicamba herbicide for control or suppression of listed broadleaf weeds and brush in labeled crops and managed sites. One 2.5-gallon jug.

Match the broadleaf target to the site

Strut is a water-soluble dicamba herbicide for control or suppression of listed broadleaf weeds, with directions for certain woody brush and vines. Its crop and managed-site uses are specified separately on the label. Begin with the place being treated and the plant that needs control. A weed appearing in a general list does not mean every use of the product is allowed at every site. Read the matching crop or non-cropland section before selecting a rate, timing or application method for that treatment.

Keep the formulation straight

This product uses the diglycolamine salt of dicamba. Other dicamba products may use different salts or concentrations and carry different directions. Do not substitute their rates or assume that a similar product name means the same mixing instructions. Strut is a concentrate sold here as one 2.5-gallon jug. The label describes broadcast applications and other methods where permitted, and the amount must be based on the actual treated area. Use the appropriate table with its units and footnotes intact when calculating a treatment.

Look beyond the target weeds

Nearby desirable broadleaf plants are part of the application decision. The label contains drift and environmental precautions intended to keep the spray on the treatment site. Read those with the equipment and weather conditions in mind. Pasture use also requires care with the plants that should remain in the stand. The label notes injury to legumes and gives specific restrictions for certain grasses. Identify what is growing in the field before choosing the treatment, particularly where clover or another broadleaf forage is part of the pasture.

Track grazing and harvest intervals

The end of spraying is not the end of the label requirements. Crop-specific restrictions can affect grazing, hay harvest or a following crop, and the relevant interval depends on the actual use. Check those restrictions before application so the treatment fits the farm schedule. Keep the product name, treated area and date in the record. If a tank mix is planned, compare the directions on every product involved and follow the most restrictive requirements. The current Strut label contains the crop-specific tables needed for those decisions. Check them before treating.

Formulation

Diglycolamine salt of dicamba 56.8%; other ingredients 43.2%; total 100.0%. Contains 38.5% dicamba acid, equivalent to 4.0 lb of acid per gallon. Group 4. EPA Reg. No. 34704-1043.

Directions for use

Strut label rates vary by target weed type and growth stage, with additional crop and site limits. The general table below does not replace crop-specific maximum rates, permitted use sites, or tank-mix restrictions in the full label.

For broadcast ground application, use 3 to 50 gallons of spray solution per acre, with higher volumes for dense or tall vegetation. Select nozzles that minimize fine droplets and keep them close to weeds while maintaining coverage. For wiper application, the label specifies one part Strut to one part water. Keep solution off desirable vegetation. Wiper applications are excluded for cotton, sorghum and soybean.

The label notes that perennials identified in Table 1 footnote 1 may be controlled with lower rates than those listed for other perennial weeds. Rates below 8.0 fluid ounces per acre may provide control or suppression, but are typically used with other effective herbicides. Species noted in Table 2 require tank mixes for adequate control. Do not broadcast more than 32.0 fluid ounces per acre in one application. Higher rates for dense perennial growth or established roots, and rates above 32.0 fluid ounces per acre for stem or stem suppression, are spot treatments only. Stem or stem suppression is not registered in California. Do not exceed 64.0 fluid ounces per acre per year.

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS
DO NOT apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present or to
intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. DO NOT contaminate water when
disposing of equipment washwaters or rinsate. Apply this product only as directed
on the label.

This chemical is known to leach through soil into ground water under certain con-
ditions as a result of agricultural use. Use of this chemical in areas where soils are
permeable, particularly where the water table is shallow, may result in ground water
contamination.
GROUND AND SURFACE WATER PROTECTION
Point source contamination: To prevent point source contamination, DO NOT mix
or load this pesticide product within 50 feet of wells (including abandoned wells and
drainage wells), sink holes, perennial or intermittent streams and rivers, and natural
or impounded lakes and reservoirs. DO NOT apply pesticide product within 50 feet of
wells. This setback does not apply to properly capped or plugged abandoned wells
and does not apply to impervious pad or properly diked mixing/loading areas as
described below.

Mixing, loading, rinsing, or washing operations performed within 50 feet of a well are
allowed only when conducted on an impervious pad constructed to withstand the
weight of the heaviest load that may be on or move across the pad. The pad must be

self-contained to prevent surface water flow over or from the pad. The pad capacity
must be maintained at 110% of that of the largest pesticide container or application
equipment used on the pad and have sufficient capacity to contain all product spills,
equipment or container leaks, equipment wash waters, and rainwater that may fall on
the pad. The containment capacity does not apply to vehicles delivering pesticide ship-
ments to the mixing/loading site. States may have in effect additional requirements
regarding wellhead setbacks and operational containment.

Care must be taken when using this product to prevent: a) back siphoning into wells,
b) spills or c) improper disposal of excess pesticide, spray mixtures or rinsates. Check
valves or antisiphoning devices must be used on all mixing equipment.

Movement by surface runoff or through soil: DO NOT apply under conditions which
favor runoff. DO NOT apply to impervious substrates such as paved or highly com-
pacted surfaces in areas with high potential for ground water contamination. Ground
water contamination may occur in areas where soils are permeable or coarse and
ground water is near the surface. DO NOT apply to soils classified as sand with less
than 3% organic matter and where ground water depth is shallow. To minimize the
possibility of ground water contamination, carefully follow application rate listings as
affected by soil type in the product information section of this label.

Movement by water erosion of treated soil: DO NOT apply or incorporate this
product through any type of irrigation equipment nor by flood or furrow irrigation.
Ensure treated areas have received at least 1/2 inch rainfall (or irrigation) before using
tailwater for subsequent irrigation of other fields.

Endangered Species Concerns
The use of any pesticide in a manner that may kill or otherwise harm an endangered
species or adversely modify their habitat is a violation of Federal law.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its
labeling. DO NOT apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other
persons, either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area
during application. For any requirements specific to your state or tribe, consult the
agency responsible for pesticide regulation.

All applicable directions, restrictions, precautions and Conditions of Sale and
Warranty are to be followed. This labeling must be in the user’s possession during
application.

AGRICULTURAL USE REQUIREMENTS
