A measured liquid bait concentrate for rodent control in eligible nonresidential buildings where rodents seek water.

When liquid bait fits

Liquid bait serves a different purpose from a dry block or pellet. It can be useful where rodents are seeking water and solid bait is not being taken. Each sealed pouch makes one quart when mixed with water, giving you a measured starting volume rather than an open bottle to portion by eye. The active ingredient is sodium salt of diphacinone at 0.106 percent. The target pests are Norway rats, roof rats and house mice. This concentrate belongs in a planned indoor control program, not as a drink container left where livestock or pets can reach it.

Choose the right setting

Use is limited to eligible nonresidential indoor settings such as industrial, commercial, agricultural or public buildings and similar structures. It is not for a home or outdoor placement. First identify where rodents are active and whether that area can be kept away from people, pets, livestock and non-target wildlife. A building with feed or food handling needs careful placement so the bait cannot reach products, utensils or contact surfaces. If the site cannot meet those limits, choose another control approach. Keep the mixture in an appropriate dispenser rather than an open dish where animals can reach it.

Plan each placement

Use droppings, gnaw marks and fresh activity to identify the route before setting a station. Reduce competing food where practical, then place the bait where rodents can find it without bringing it near stored food, utensils or contact surfaces. Keep it away from troughs, bowls and kitchen dishes. Check ventilation openings before settling on a spot. The bait must not be placed near or inside them, and an open dish is not a substitute for an appropriate dispenser. These checks help keep a treatment focused on rodent activity instead of spreading bait across a room.

Keep the program controlled

Check placements on a regular schedule. Replace bait that becomes contaminated or spoiled, and collect dead rodents and leftover bait using the required protective equipment. Dispose of both as directed. If fresh activity continues, note where it appears and address persistent food, water or shelter sources before repeating treatment. Where permanent bait stations are permitted, replenish them as needed. Keep a simple record of each station and its location so later checks can find remaining bait and distinguish an old sign from new activity.

Directions for use

Directions for use

It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Read this entire label and follow all use directions and use precautions. Use only for sites, pests, and application methods described on this label.

Important: Do not expose children, pets, or non-target animals to rodenticides. To help prevent accidents:

  1. Store unused product out of reach of children and pets.
  2. Apply bait in locations out of reach of children, pets, domestic animals and non-target wildlife, or in tamper-resistant bait stations. These stations must be resistant to destruction by dogs and by children under six years of age, and must be used in a manner that prevents such children from reaching into bait compartments and obtaining bait. If bait can be shaken from bait stations when they are lifted, units must be secured or otherwise immobilized. Stronger bait stations are needed in areas open to handled livestock, raccoons, bears, or other potentially destructive animals, or in areas prone to vandalism.
  3. Dispose of product container and unused, spoiled, or unconsumed bait as specified on this label.

Use restrictions

For indoor use only. This product is for control of Norway rats, roof rats and house mice only inside of industrial, commercial, agricultural, and public buildings, and similar man-made structures. Do not place near or inside ventilation duct openings. Do not contaminate water, food, feed, utensils, equipment, or milk or meat handling equipment, or any surface that may come into direct contact with food. When used in USDA-inspected facilities, this product must be applied in tamper-resistant bait stations. Do not use in sewers.

Do not sell this product in individual containers holding less than 13.44 fl. oz. of bait concentrate.

Selection of treatment areas

Determine areas where rats or mice will most likely find the bait. Generally, these areas are along walls, by gnawed openings, in or beside burrows, in corners and concealed places, between floors and walls, or in locations where rodents or their signs have been seen. Remove as much alternative food as possible.

Mixing directions

Wearing waterproof gloves, thoroughly mix contents of one 1.68 fl. oz. pouch in 1 quart (32 fluid ounces) of water.

Application directions

Rats: Provide a minimum of 1 pint (16 fluid ounces) of Tomcat Liquid Concentrate diluted product in each dispenser (suitably-equipped bait station, chick feeder, or other suitable device). If infested area is large, or if rat population appears to be rising, use dispensers at several locations. Space dispensers and refill them as needed to ensure that bait is exposed in all infested areas where it can be used without putting nontarget organisms at risk.

Mice: Provide 1/2-pint (8 fluid ounces) placements of Tomcat Liquid Concentrate diluted product in suitably-equipped bait stations, chick feeders, or other appropriate vessels. Place dispensers at intervals of 8–12 feet in all infested areas where bait can be used without putting nontarget organisms at risk.

Follow-up

Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. Wearing waterproof gloves, collect and dispose of all visible dead animals and leftover bait, as well as any bait that has become accessible to nontarget animals. To discourage reinfestation, limit sources of rodent food, water and harborages as much as possible. If reinfestation does occur, repeat treatment. For a continuous infestation, set up permanent bait stations and replenish bait as needed.
