Fire ants, fleas, ticks and the lawn pests that chew through a good yard do not wait for a convenient weekend. Hi-Yield Turf Ranger II Granular Insecticide is ready to use for lawns, flowers, shrubs and ornamental beds, and it starts to work right after you water it in.
Two active ingredients do the work. Zeta-cypermethrin and bifenthrin give knockdown for the pests you can see and residual activity for the ones that come back. The granules are low odor, and they go down with a fertilizer spreader.

Why choose a granular insecticide for the yard
It fits the family with ticks in the lawn, the homeowner with fire ant mounds by the patio, and the homeowner with chinch bugs and billbugs in the lawn. Treat when insects first appear, and retreat only as needed to keep control.

How to use it
Spread evenly, water in, and keep everyone off the treated area until it dries. Read and follow label directions before you start.
- Apply with a fertilizer spreader. Calibrate it first by weighing a few pounds into the spreader and applying them to a measured area, then adjust the setting if needed.
- Set the spreader from the settings table in the directions, and use the rate listed for each pest. When treating several pests, apply the higher of the listed rates.
- Water the treated area immediately with half an inch of water. Do not water to the point of run-off, and do not apply during rain.
- For fire ant mounds, apply 1/2 cup of product per mound, then water with enough force to break the apex and let the insecticide flow into the tunnels.
- Repeat only when there are signs of renewed insect activity, and no more than once every 7 days.
Keep people and pets out until dusts have settled, watering-in is complete and the treated area has dried.
Good to know
Keep granules off the driveway, sidewalk and street. Sweep anything that lands there back onto the treated lawn, which keeps it out of storm drains, ditches and surface water.
Apply in calm weather when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours.
Wear long sleeves, long pants, socks, shoes and gloves, and wash thoroughly before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet.
Store in a cool, dry area in the original container, away from food and pet food. Empty containers cannot be refilled, so put them in the trash or recycling if available.
Pair it with a fertilizer spreader you use only for granules, and keep a hose ready for the half inch of water. For ticks, the directions call for treatment once a month from late spring into early fall.

Cautions
CAUTION: Causes moderate eye irritation. Harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with eyes or clothing. Prolonged or frequently repeated skin contact may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Wear long-sleeved shirt and long pants, socks, shoes and gloves. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet.
This pesticide is extremely toxic to fish, aquatic invertebrates, oysters and shrimp. To protect the environment, do not allow pesticide to enter or run off into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters or surface waters. Applying this product in calm weather when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours will help to ensure that wind or rain does not blow or wash pesticide off the treatment area. Sweeping any product that lands on a driveway, sidewalk, or street, back onto the treated area of the lawn or garden will help to prevent run off to water bodies or drainage systems.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
Fire ants do not take a season off. Keep granules on hand before the first warm week brings them back.
