WARHAWK is a restricted-use chlorpyrifos concentrate in a 2.5-gallon jug. Current label eligibility and application limits depend on crop, site and method.

A concentrated crop insecticide

WARHAWK is a liquid chlorpyrifos concentrate with 4 pounds of active ingredient per gallon. The 2.5-gallon jug is intended for labeled agricultural use, not as a ready-to-use spray. The chemistry has a role only when the target pest, crop and site match an allowed treatment. The label has separate crop tables because the same pest-control decision can carry different rates, methods and timing on different crops. Those details are central to choosing the product, not fine print to check after a tank is mixed.

Florida uses depend on the crop and treatment

For Florida, current directions include crop-specific entries for citrus, cotton and soybeans, but their limits are different. Citrus has its own pest and timing rows, including annual chlorpyrifos limits and preharvest intervals. Cotton and soybeans have separate seasonal maxima and restrictions. A permission for a crop does not mean every pest, application method or field condition is covered. Identify the crop, target, location and proposed equipment first. Then work from that exact line of the current label and its footnotes. Do not transfer a rate from one crop to another.

Know the applicator requirement before planning

This is a federal restricted-use pesticide. Florida law requires a buyer to hold a valid dealer license, applicator license or purchase authorization card. Application must be by a licensed applicator or under a licensed applicator’s direct supervision, within the certification’s covered uses. WARHAWK is available through in-store eligibility review. Before applying, obtain the Endangered Species Protection Bulletin for the field and application month, then follow the measures listed for that place and time.

Match equipment to the site

Maintain water setbacks of 25 feet for ground boom or chemigation, 50 feet for orchard airblast and 150 feet for aerial application near the listed permanent waters. Other drift controls and sensitive-site restrictions still apply. The choice of equipment changes how the spray moves beyond the crop, so field edges, wind and nearby water belong in the plan. A general statement that a crop is on the label is not enough to establish that a particular treatment can go ahead. Read the full crop row, restrictions and emergency information before handling the jug.

Composition and restricted-use status

Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other persons, either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be in the area during application. For any requirements specific to your state or tribe, consult the agency responsible for pesticide regulation. Do not aerially apply this product in Mississippi. Use as a Wide Area/General Outdoor Treatment for Ants and other Miscellaneous Pests (excludes wide-area mosquito adulticide use) is Prohibited. Flood irrigation: To avoid contamination of irrigation tail waters, do not flood irrigate within 24 hours following a soil surface or foliar application of Warhawk.

Endangered Species Protection Requirements; It is a Federal offense to use any pesticide in a manner that results in an unauthorized “take” (e.g., kill or otherwise harm) of an endangered species and certain threatened species under the Endangered Species Act section 9. When using this product, you must follow the measures contained in the Endangered Species Protection Bulletin for the area in which you are applying the product. You must obtain a Bulletin no earlier than six months before using this product. To obtain Bulletins, consult http://www.epa.gov/espp/, or call 1-844-447-3813 or email ESPP@epa.gov. You must use the Bulletin valid for the month in which you will apply the product.

Agricultural Use Requirements; Use this product only in accordance with its labeling and with the Worker Protection Standard, 40 CFR part 170. This Standard contains requirements for the protection of agricultural workers on farms, forests, nurseries, and greenhouses, and handlers of agricultural pesticides. Do not enter or allow entry into treated areas during the restricted entry interval (REI). The REI for each crop is listed in the directions for use associated with each crop. Exception: If the product is soil-injected or soil-incorporated, the Worker Protection Standard, under certain circumstances, allows workers to enter the treated area if there will be no contact with anything that has been treated. Certified crop advisors or persons entering under their direct supervision under certain circumstances may be exempt from the early reentry requirements pursuant to 40 CFR Part 170.

PPE required for early entry into treated areas that is permitted under the Worker Protection Standard and involves contact with anything that has been treated, such as plants, soil, or water, is: coveralls over short-sleeved shirt and short pants; chemical-resistant gloves made of barrier laminate or viton ≥ 14 mils; chemical-resistant footwear plus socks; chemical-resistant headgear for overhead exposure. Notify workers of the application by warning them orally and by posting warning signs at entrances to treated areas.

The label’s mandatory water setbacks are 25 feet for ground boom and chemigation, 50 feet for orchard airblast, and 150 feet for fixed-wing or helicopter aerial application, subject to all label conditions. The full crop-specific directions govern rates, timing, intervals, seasonal maximums, preharvest intervals, restricted-entry intervals, grazing restrictions and application methods.
