A 2,4-D herbicide for listed broadleaf weeds in labeled grass and crop settings.

Control broadleaf weeds in grassy areas

Weedone LV6 EC is a 2,4-D ester herbicide for labeled uses that include grass pasture, rangeland, ornamental turf and non-cropland. It is designed for broadleaf weeds, not grass control. The specific weed, site, crop tolerance and growth stage determine whether this product fits. It is not a general weed treatment for a mixed garden or greenhouse.

Choose the correct use site

The directions differ across crop, pasture, turf and non-crop uses. Some crop varieties are sensitive to 2,4-D, and drift can damage vegetables, grapes, ornamentals, cotton and other broadleaf plants. Confirm that both the target weed and exact site are included before treating. Keep spray off nearby desirable plants, and avoid the use where a drift path can reach them.

Time treatment for active growth

Young, actively growing weeds are generally easier to control than mature plants. Warm weather supports active growth, but wind and hot, dry conditions can increase drift risk. Calibrate the sprayer and select a spray volume that reaches the target foliage. Maintain agitation while mixing and applying; this emulsifiable concentrate can separate if left standing.

Protect the next crop

Use only the site and rate specified for the target weed. Do not apply to St. Augustinegrass, dichondra or other herbaceous groundcovers. Desirable clover can also be damaged or killed. Do not apply through irrigation or in or near a greenhouse. Keep spray away from desirable broadleaf plants, including vegetables, grapes, flowers, shrubs and trees. For turf, keep people and pets off the area during treatment and until the spray has dried. Agricultural uses have a 12-hour restricted-entry interval. Clean equipment before it is used for another purpose, following the label cleaning directions. Rates differ for seedling grass at the five-leaf stage, established turf and perennial weeds. Pasture, rangeland and crop use require separate rates; do not carry a lawn rate into those sites. Do not use this product through irrigation systems or in and around greenhouses. The spray must stay on the labeled site, and separate pasture or crop rates should never be substituted for turf directions.

Active ingredients

2,4-D isooctyl (2-ethylhexyl) ester 87.3%; other ingredients 12.7%. Equivalent to 57.9% 2,4-D acid, 5.5 lb/gal.

Directions for use

Ornamental turf siteRate per acreTiming and conditions
Seedling grass, five-leaf stage or later1/2 to 3/4 pintApply when weeds are small and actively growing; do not exceed 3/4 pint per acre.
Well-established ornamental turf1-1/3 to 2 pintsApply when weeds are small and actively growing.
Biennial and perennial broadleaf weeds in ornamental turf2 pintsApply when weeds are small and actively growing.

Use calibrated equipment and at least 10 gallons of spray per acre for ground application. Apply sufficient volume for coverage. For hand-held spot treatment on ornamental turf, mix the amount corresponding to the intended broadcast rate in 1 to 3 gallons of spray per 1,000 square feet, using the label conversion table.

Ornamental turf: no more than two broadcast applications per treatment site per year; no more than 4.3 pints per acre per year; wait at least 21 days between applications. Do not use on creeping grasses such as bent except as spot treatment, on St. Augustinegrass, or on dichondra and other herbaceous groundcovers. Legumes may be damaged or killed. Delay reseeding at least 30 days after treatment. These rates are for ornamental turf only; follow the separate table for pasture, rangeland, crops or non-cropland.
